Typically, a combination of strength training and cardio is best. Cardio helps with keeping up your cardiovascular health and using up a higher concentration of calories, while strength training is great for building and maintaining muscle, and also helping to keep your bones and joints healthy. If you can, try to include them at least a few days a week, but remember to gradually increase based on how much you are used to.
One form of cardio isn’t necessarily better than another though. The key is to find something that you enjoy, and sticking to it. Some people like to find things that don’t feel as much like exercise, such as sports, swimming, hiking, biking, etc.
If you are looking for very tailored workout information for you personally such as exact exercises to include, we recommend seeking out a personal trainer. They are great and are available at most gyms and fitness facilities specifically for that reason.
