As with anything, it is possible to consume too much protein. Some people overestimate the amount of protein they need daily, but as long as you are a healthy individual without pre-existing medical conditions, there isn't much harm in consuming a little extra protein.
That said, there is no point in consuming way too much protein, either. Consuming too many grams of protein in your day can put you in a calorie surplus, which will lead to unintended weight gain (if that is not your goal). Additionally, some people notice digestive issues when going over their protein needs.
The best way to determine if you are consuming too much protein is to count your protein intake for the day. The acceptable range of protein intake is quite wide, so don't stress about it too much as long as you are following a generally healthy and balanced diet.
