To achieve your weight gain, you have to be in a calorie surplus. This means you need to be consuming more calories per day than your body would need to maintain its normal weight. The amount and type of foods you eat are important and can help you get to your goals.
Even though calories are a main priority, keeping your diet primarily healthy is important. We recommend incorporating a variety of different nutritious foods/food groups into your day. Main ones to think about are proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, and fats. Try to eat regularly and form balanced meals that contain several different food groups.
If you typically struggle with weight gain, try adding in some more calorie dense options, such as red meat, eggs, fish, avocados, dried fruit, nuts/nut butters, protein smoothies, hummus, and pasta for example.
