Pre-workout is a type of supplement, usually a powdered drink mix, that is taken before exercise to boost performance.
Almost every pre-workout supplement on the market is made up of a different formulation, though many of pre-workout products share similar ingredients – common examples being caffeine, beta alanine, amino acids, and citrulline.
A couple things to keep in mind in relation to pre-workout supplements: Most of these supplements contain caffeine and other stimulants, often in very high doses. Some pre-workout products contain the equivalent of 4 cups of coffee per serving! Our pre-workout contains a more moderate dose of caffeine - 150mg per serving, or about 1.5 cups of coffee. Make sure you know what your individual caffeine tolerance is, and try not to get too reliant on pre-workout. Some people find that if they take pre-workout for too long, it can be difficult to exercise without it. Therefore, cycling off of pre-workout every now and again is a good idea.
