Ketogenic diets may promote weight loss through restricting carbs heavily, which in turn promotes a calorie deficit. However, the diet can be problematic because carbohydrates are the body’s main and preferred source of energy. If you restrict carbs, you may be left feeling tired, lethargic, and having cravings. Carbohydrates foods also have essential nutrients that you may not get from other foods, such as fiber and some vitamins and minerals.
At the end of the day though, everyone is different. We prefer different things, and our bodies respond differently. Health & nutrition is not one-size-fits-all. Trial and error is sometimes the best method to see if you like a certain diet pattern or lifestyle.
