Building muscle and losing fat simultaneously isn't very realistic to do, no matter how hard you work at it. The two processes are completely different, and require different dietary approaches. No one distribution of macronutrients (macros) or single protein powder blend will effectively achieve both for you at the same time.
To gain muscle, you have to gain weight – this requires a calorie surplus. To lose fat, you have to lose – this requires a calorie deficit. We would focus on one goal at at a time, although you can always switch down the line. When you lose fat, it often appears that your muscles are bigger, fuller, and more prominent since they are not covered up as much.
Keep in mind that your total calorie balance for the day is more important than your macros. Obviously, having highly imbalanced macros isn't good. But, if you are trying to lose weight and aren't in a calorie deficit, it won't matter what macros you follow – you won't lose weight. For whichever goal you chose to start with, we'll make sure you have a protein powder that supports it. Once you're ready to tackle the second goal, we'll be able to switch you to another blend that will best support your new goal.
