While many people believe that cutting carbs is the key to weight loss, an overall calorie deficit is really the only way to lose weight. The reason why some people see great results from cutting carbs isn't necessarily the result of the carbs themselves, but rather avoiding high-calorie foods which are also high-carb.
Many low-carb foods, such as meat, seafood and vegetables, are also low in calories. Additionally, reducing carbohydrate intake generally leads to increased protein intake, as many high-protein foods are low in carbs. When people start eating foods with less carbs, they generally improve their overall diet, which can lead to great weight loss results.
